Context: This updated multi organisation workflow introduces flexible payment models and enhanced multi-entity support for complex organisations with parent and child organisation structures. Administrators and employers managing multiple affiliated entities now have greater control over where contributions are submitted, where payments are processed, and how bank accounts and refunds are managed across the organisation hierarchy. Below is the information on how to select the multi organisation that works best for your organisation.
Note: Before you begin, you will need to set up your parent organisation with the relevant branches and subsidiaries.
For information about setting up a branch, see How to add a Branch?
For information about setting up a subsidiary, see How to add a Subsidiary?
Once you have set up your parent organisation with branches, subsidiaries or both, navigate to Settings > Contribution Settings > Multi - Org workflow.
Complex organisations can choose from two payment workflows to match how their business operates:
Submit and Pay at the parent
Submit and pay at the parent is the default option.
Contributions are uploaded and submitted at the parent organisation. The parent organisation also pays for all contributions loaded in the hierarchy.
Contribution payments and refund details for all organisations are inherited from the top most level.
For more information, see Submitting a contribution for a complex organisation.
Submit at the parent, pay at each organisation
Select the Submit at the parent, pay at each organisation option using the Set as preferred button if you wish for individual organisations to pay for their own contributions within a complex organisation hierarchy.
Contributions are added and submitted at the topmost level and then split and distributed across the organisations.
Each organisation makes payments to their allocated contribution.
Contribution payment and refund details are configured individually by each organisation.
For more information, see Submit contributions at the parent, pay at each organisation.
